  8. At my job I have benn blessed/cursed with internet access through a 
  9. firewall router.  This means that I have to have an account & actually log 
  10. into the firewall router (actually a unix box) to reach the outside world.

  12. A couple of people have implemented daemons that will allow one to initiate

  14. an outbound connection using one of these daemons (SOCKS in our case).

  16. Apparently I must not be the only person in this position as UNIX based 
  17. TCP/IP apps are STARTING to support these daemons, I was hoping that 
  18. some form of shim could/would be implemented (in my case for NT) that 
  19. allowed all the winsock apps to work transparently.
